TRS Cinema: The First Wives Club

Everyman Cinema, London

The first Rhubarb Society Cinema event — a private screening of The First Wives Club at Everyman to celebrate the film's 30th anniversary. Members arrived, were watered with a glass of bubbles, and were collectively reminded why Goldie, Bette, and Diane remain the holy trinity of cinema. The members with the foresight to stop at The Park London for a rhubarb sour ahead of the screening have been noted and quietly admired.

The TRS Big Cosy Quiz

Brown's Hotel, Mayfair

Thirty-two members in their finest knitwear descended on the Roosevelt Room at Brown's Hotel for the inaugural TRS Big Cosy Quiz. Three dogs attended (including HRH Rhubarb). Five winners went home with luxury goodie bags, Papier gifting, and afternoon tea at Brown's. Numerous complaints were filed regarding the marking. We have no further comment at this time.

The Collar Club

A morning in Notting Hill for members and their canine companions — because the best events are the ones where the dogs outnumber the complaints. Society pups were met, introductions were made, and we are fairly certain several new friendships (human and otherwise) were forged in the process. In collaboration with our friends at Virtue Vets.

Summer Shopping at Bicester Village

Bicester Village, Oxfordshire

For our second members event, thirty members escaped the city for a day at Bicester Village — armed with a personalised Rhubarb Society shopping map and the knowledge that a three-course lunch at Cecconi's awaited them. Temperatures reached 29 degrees and our members were magnificent throughout. The event raised £1,000 for Women for Women through ticket sales, which we are enormously proud of.

The Big Easter Event

By Rotation Townhouse, London

Our inaugural members event. Thirty private members gathered at the By Rotation townhouse for a springtime Italian feast, an Easter tablescape of considerable beauty, and the small matter of meeting The People's Princess in person. Membership cards were distributed, goodie bags were assembled, and the Champagne was, by all accounts, exceptional. The competitive element of the evening has not been discussed publicly.
